Immigration on look-out for scam suspects - Manila Channel

MANILA, Philippines— The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is ready to help the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) by keeping an eye to prevent pork barrel scam suspects Janet Lim-Napoles and her brother Reynald Lim from leaving the country.

Napoles is now considered a high profile fugitive as she allegedly benefitted from pork barrel funds through illegal means.

Also listed in the lookout bulletin is Napoles' brother, Reynald Lim, who was previously cleared of charges of serious illegal detention in relation to the three-month alleged disappearance of scam whistleblower Benhur Luy.

The fugitives have been included in the BI's lookout bulletin, which means the airports have been on alert for their possible flight even before the issuance of the arrest warrants.

Justice Secretary Leila De Lima ordered the BI to exercise "utmost discretion" in the dissemination of information relating to the probe.

Immigration officer-in-charge Siegfred Mison said an all-points bulletin had earlier been issued, even as immigration and intelligence officers are on the lookout for the fugitives.

De Lima said any information on the two could be reported to the NBI Operations Center, telephone numbers 524-1141 and 0917-5838612
